During the school year, members meet on weekday evenings at Gregory Gym for group runs that split into distance groups of around 3, 5, or 7 miles. Saturday mornings feature longer runs of roughly 9–13 miles. Members also participate in local races and collegiate competitions through the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association.

Runs are non competitive and welcoming to all speeds and experience levels. Most runs are capped around 5K, with alternating routes to keep things fresh. Everyone is encouraged to do what they can, no more, no less.
Once the miles are done, the group usually heads to a nearby restaurant or bar for food and drinks. The run is part of it, but the social side matters just as much. Come for the movement, stay for the people.

The club hosts weekly social runs including a popular Wednesday night outing from The Station Public House, covering 3 to 4.5 miles on roads or trails depending on the season. Thursday nights add more challenge with hill sessions starting at Ponderosa Cider Co, often dropping into the American River Canyon for big climbs. Throughout the summer, they organize longer weekend trail runs across the Sierra Nevada, usually ranging from 10 to 20 miles on technical terrain.
Beyond weekly meetups, Bad Luck Run Club produces a standout lineup of events, from the fantasy inspired Quest! Adventure Run to endurance favorites like the Outlands and Lost Sierra Races. Their calendar spans 5Ks to 100Ks, plus quirky challenges and a Backyard Ultra designed to push limits while keeping the community spirit at the center.

They host two weekly group runs. Sunday Runday is their longer run, always offering a 5 mile option, with additional training distances during their spring and fall programs. The group meets at Big League Performance & Rehab on Pennsylvania Avenue and starts at 8:30 AM in the cooler months, shifting earlier during the summer. On Wednesdays they run an easy 3 mile loop through the National Mall and surrounding neighborhoods. Most weeks the meetup is at Tap99 in Navy Yard at 6:30 PM, but the first Wednesday of each month starts at the lululemon store on F Street.
The vibe at EPRC is friendly and community driven. People show up for the run, but also for the encouragement, consistency and the chance to connect with others who enjoy moving through the city together. Whether you are just starting or already deep into training, this is a group where you will feel supported.

The club meets early in the evening on tuesdays at 6:30 pm in Lakeview. Runners split into pace groups ranging roughly from 7-minute miles to comfortable 12–13-minute “party pace,” so it’s easy to find people who run at your speed. On good-weather days, there’s usually a power-walking group as well.
Their route follows an out-and-back path along the Lakefront Trail, offering plenty of space, shoreline views, and clear navigation for both new and returning runners.
If you’re new to the city or simply looking to meet people, this group is very social. They often head out for food or drinks after the run, making it a fun way to build connections.
